History

Dezanoth 'Devin' Ror'alath was born in a small, poor village in the underground structure of Al Ruwa called 'The Bottomless Pits of Adar', where shadows danced with malice and ambition thrived like hungry weeds. As a half demon of no importance—though strikingly charismatic in nature—he quickly learned that survival depended on cunning behavior and charm. Armed with an insatiable curiosity above the surface, Devin often slipped away from the orphanage he grew up in with his twin sister, Alora, to explore the thriving city above. His enchanting smile could turn enemies into allies—as long as they didn’t realize he had plans of his own brewing beneath of mischievousness and trickery. Amidst swirling whispers of conflict of keeping the orphanage alive, it wasn’t long before he sought escape from the so called home he grew up in and turned to find a place with more purpose.While traversing the streets, Devin discovered an unexpected gift: shapeshifting. With the flicker of desire mingling with mischief in his heart, he found solace transforming into a sleek black Al Ruwan cat—a creature thought to bring both favorable luck and mystery wherever it roamed. This metamorphosis allowed him to thrive by foraging food from stalls even amidst ignorant shopkeepers. Though more often than not, it still left him and his sister in a bit of a pinch. Even so, nothing compared to the escapades filled with adventure from one tent to another. The multiple collected tales told underneath starry skies from wandering thieves that seemed to spark his inner flame of curiosity.
Could he settle for less than what lay out in the vast unknown? He found himself asking one day after being chased down after stealing a measly piece of bread. Yet deep down, the shapeshifter was indeed relentless: seeking belonging in worlds where acceptance felt eternally out of reach. Or even finding a purpose amongst the barren sands. None of which untainted him with doubt. At times, Devin began immensely calling for a connection just as frail souls often do after spending many years without companionship. He vows to find his missing twin sister who vanished one cold morning in late Fortuna. Simply disappearing in thin air!—but until then Dezanoth takes the promise of the one year service of Nadir to serve as a Pale Wolf in hopes of finding a search party capable of finding his vanished lost sibling.

Personality

Living on the streets and camping in tents through the years, Devin's quite adapatable in most dire situations. His feline form helps him to score live fish and other morsels without getting caught. He's able to speak his way through difficult situations. Often times putting on a 'mask' to get what he wants. Which can often lead to betraying the trust of others. His nights are filled with nightmares from the day his twin sister vanished. Being without a stable income and home, he's often feeling restless in his attempts to find stability in relationships with others...as well as coming to terms with the uncertainty of his future.

Likes: Ear scratches, trickery, raspberry pastries, fresh fish, people watching, and strong opponents. Dislikes: Losing fights, rain, crowded places, abandonment, solitary confinement, and chickens.

Devin's a half demon. Often referred to by some locals as a demonic shapeshifter. A class of half demons that can shapeshift into a beast of their choice. In which case for Devin, is a black Al Ruwan cat.He's so out of touch with the world that it's difficult for him to fit in. Except for a unique encounter with a run in with Azhar and his master, Azemya Khal'drossi. Going up against the Ifrit the demonic shapeshifter thought he could win food over them despite the drastic size difference of the two.Devin's arcane is based on the reversed Magician tarot card in which he has not yet manifested his true potential as an arcane chosen. Often using his own powers of trickery for personal gain instead of serving his god's purpose.
